The Gay Photographers Network brings together amateur and professional photographers to share their interest for all things photography, and is fast becoming the name to watch for emerging photographic talent from London’s gay community. With over 900 members in the Gay Photographers Network online community, membership ranges from beginners to professional photographers. All photography enthusiasts are welcome to share their ideas, experience and their work in a friendly and dynamic community.
The Gay Photographers Network meets on the last Wednesday of every month in a photographic studio in south London for talks & workshops on photography, photo challenges and networking. During the year the group holds a range of activities including photo walks, studio photography events and exhibitions.
Last year, the Gay Photographers Network 2012 exhibition, f20-12, was seen by almost 2000 people, and was featured in The Independent, Time Out and BBC Local News. Sales & donations from the exhibition raised more than £1800 for charity.
This year, the Gay Photographers Network held a showcase exhibition, Beyond Words, in collaboration with Foyles Bookstore on Charing Cross Road, London, as part of the Pride Arts festival. The Beyond Words exhibition included images on Love & Marriage, Literary London, Travel, and Mind, Body & Soul. The exhibition was part of the official London Community Pride calendar and continued to attract visitors to the exhibition in the heart of Soho throughout the summer.
Their fourth annual exhibition, GAYZED, runs from 15-20 October 2013 at The Strand Gallery, in John Adam Street, London, just a stone’s throw from Soho.
