Fernando Nonohay

Fernando studied photography at CityLit when he started a project based on a series of photos taken from the top of a London double-decker bus. The result of this project is the website www.storiesfromthetop.com, where each photo is accompanied by a short-story.

He has a passion for street photography, capturing the exciting, unexpected, surreal, beautiful and sometimes even ordinary aspects of day-to-day life. He loves the fact that the street photographer can never be fully prepared – things are left to chance, luck. But of course it’s also important to be quick to capture a moment that will fade forever in a matter of seconds.

His major influence is not a photographer, but an artist: Edward Hopper with his strong sense of narrative and focus on the interaction of human beings and their environment, projecting a beautiful atmosphere of melancholy and loneliness in big urban centers.
